I'm taking action to help end homelessness.

I’ve committed to sleeping in my car overnight this October – it’s a bad night’s sleep for a good cause.

The increased cost of living, impact of domestic violence, and lack of affordable housing are all factors contributing to a homelessness crisis in Australia. I’ve joined Sleep In Your Car to raise awareness and vital funds to help families find a safe home. By giving up one night of comfort, I am raising awareness and vital funds to help end homelessness.

Good morning from the car!

Friday 17th Oct
Hi everyone, I decided to change the night that I would sleep in my car. Last night was looking like a cooler night, and if anyone knows me well, they would know that anything over 15 degrees at night is a scorcher for me. However, I am reminded that this is a privilege, and that many people are forced to sleep in their car in even the most unbearable of weather conditions. Overall, I had a terrible sleep. I slept in short bursts. I couldn’t lay in one place for a long period of time due to pains in my back from the awfully hard surface. Nevertheless, it was well worth it in our pursuit of raising money and awareness for the homelessness sector. My heart goes out to anyone currently in this position - I now have a much deeper appreciation of how difficult this would be night after night. The month of October is not over, and there is still time to donate and share this cause. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and supported Mission Australia’s cause.
