My target 1 Steps
I'm taking action to help end homelessness.
I’ve committed to sleeping in my car overnight this August – it’s a bad night’s sleep for a good cause.
The increased cost of living, impact of domestic violence, and lack of affordable housing are all factors contributing to a homelessness crisis in Australia. I’ve joined Sleep In Your Car to raise awareness and vital funds to help families find a safe home. By giving up one night of comfort, I am raising awareness and vital funds to help end homelessness.
I’d love your support today by contributing to the life-changing services provided by Mission Australia.
Together, we can ensure that all Australians have a safe place to call home.
My Updates
2026 sleeping in the car to help bring awareness to homelessness!
Tuesday 19th MayLast year I did my first sleep out in my car to help raise awareness for people experiencing homelessness. It was a small sacrifice compared to what so many people face every single day, but it was something close to my heart. So many of us go to sleep each night with a roof over our heads, a warm bed, and the comfort of knowing we are safe. But for many people, that isn’t their reality. Every night there are people of all ages young people, adults, and older members of our community sleeping in cars, on couches, or on the streets, just trying to get through another night.Homelessness isn’t just something I care about it’s something I’ve lived through myself, both as a young person and again in my 20s. I know what it feels like to not have stability, safety, or certainty about where you’ll sleep. That’s why this matters so much to me. If giving up my time, sleeping in my car for one night, and sharing my story can help raise even a little bit of money, awareness, compassion, or hope for someone doing it tough, then I’m all in.Everyone deserves safety. Everyone deserves warmth. Everyone deserves a place to call home. I’m grateful to be able to stand beside this cause today and help be part of the conversation and change.

I'm not surprised to hear you are doing this again, I know how deeply you care and understand the struggles of others having been through so much yourself. You are so inspiring and it makes me so proud to call you my friend. Lots of love Brendan
